Terms of Service

Last updated: May 23, 2026

1. Introduction

This website, islandtulle.com, is owned and operated by IslandTulle ("IslandTulle", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the IslandTulle platform, including all vendor listings, couple accounts, on-platform messaging, subscription billing, blog content, and any other features or services we make available (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using IslandTulle, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services. These Terms apply to all visitors, registered couples, registered vendors, and any other users of the platform.

IslandTulle is a discovery and connection marketplace. We are not a booking platform and we are not a party to any agreement or transaction between a couple and a vendor. All wedding service contracts and payments between couples and vendors are made directly between those parties.

These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which governs how we collect and use your personal information.

You may not use IslandTulle if you are under 18 years of age. By using our Services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.

2. Accounts & Registration

Certain features of IslandTulle require you to register for an account. When registering, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information about yourself or your business, and to keep that information up to date.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, notify us immediately at legal@islandtulle.com.

You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their express authorisation, use a false identity, or impersonate any person or entity.

3. User Content

IslandTulle allows you to submit, upload, or publish information, text, photos, and other materials ("User Content"), including vendor profiles, portfolio images, reviews, inquiry messages, and couple profiles. You represent that all User Content you submit is accurate, truthful, and does not violate any applicable law or these Terms.

Licence you grant us

By submitting User Content to IslandTulle, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content for the purposes of operating and promoting the IslandTulle platform — including displaying your vendor profile, featuring your portfolio images in search results, and sharing content on our social media channels to promote the marketplace. We will not use your content for purposes beyond operating and promoting IslandTulle without your separate written permission.

You retain ownership of your User Content. Submitting content to IslandTulle does not transfer ownership.

Content you must not submit

You agree not to submit User Content that:

  • Is false, misleading, or inaccurate
  • Infringes any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right of a third party
  • Is obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, hateful, or discriminatory
  • Violates the privacy or publicity rights of any person
  • Contains software viruses, malware, or any code designed to disrupt or harm a system
  • Is unsolicited commercial communication (spam) or impersonates another person or business
  • Violates any applicable law of Trinidad & Tobago or any other jurisdiction

IslandTulle reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to remove or decline to publish any User Content that violates these Terms or that we determine is harmful to the platform, our users, or our community.

4. Couples

Couples may use IslandTulle for free to discover vendors, save shortlists, manage a wedding checklist, and send inquiries to vendors. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information in your profile and in any inquiry you send
  • Use the inquiry and messaging system in good faith — only contact vendors whose services are genuinely relevant to your wedding
  • Respect vendor response times — vendors on IslandTulle commit to responding within 24 hours, but this is a community standard, not a guarantee
  • Not use contact information provided by vendors for any purpose other than your own wedding planning

IslandTulle is not responsible for the quality, availability, pricing, or conduct of any vendor listed on the platform. All contracts and payments for wedding services are made directly between you and the vendor.

5. Vendors

Vendors must be legitimate businesses or sole traders operating within the wedding industry in Trinidad & Tobago (or other Caribbean territories as IslandTulle expands). By registering as a vendor, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current information in your profile, including your business name, category, pricing, portfolio images, and contact details
  • Respond to couple inquiries within 24 hours during business days — this is a condition of the founding vendor commitment and a community standard for all vendors
  • Not use couple contact information obtained through IslandTulle to add them to marketing lists, send automated messages, or contact them about anything unrelated to their specific wedding inquiry
  • Maintain profile content that accurately represents your current services, pricing, and availability
  • Comply with all applicable laws of Trinidad & Tobago, including business registration requirements, taxation obligations, and any licensing requirements relevant to your category

IslandTulle reserves the right to approve or reject vendor registrations, to require profile completion before a listing is made publicly visible, and to suspend or remove any vendor listing that does not comply with these Terms or that reflects negatively on the platform or its users.

Vendors are independent contractors. IslandTulle does not endorse any vendor, does not verify vendor credentials beyond profile review, and is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or performance of any vendor's services. Any dispute between a couple and a vendor is between those parties. IslandTulle will not be a party to that dispute.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

IslandTulle offers a Free tier and a Premium subscription tier for vendors. Premium subscriptions are billed in Trinidad and Tobago Dollars (TTD) via our payment processor. Pricing is displayed on the platform at the time of purchase.

When you subscribe to a Premium plan, you are redirected to our payment processor's secure Hosted Payment Page. You may notice the payment page is operated by a third-party card processor — this is expected behaviour and is not an error. IslandTulle does not handle or store your card details.

Refunds: subscription fees are non-refundable once a billing period has commenced, except where required by applicable law. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at legal@islandtulle.com within 7 days of the transaction.

Cancellation: you may cancel your Premium subscription at any time through your vendor dashboard. Your Premium access will continue until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.

Founding vendor pricing: founding vendors who were offered a complimentary Premium period or a lifetime renewal discount retain those terms as confirmed to them in writing. IslandTulle will honour all committed founding vendor terms.

IslandTulle reserves the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not take effect on an existing subscription until the next renewal date, and we will notify affected vendors by email before the change takes effect.

7. Reviews

IslandTulle allows couples to submit reviews of vendors they have worked with. Reviews are a core part of our trust and quality system. By submitting a review, you represent that:

  • You have personally engaged with the vendor's services
  • Your review is honest, accurate, and based on your real experience
  • Your review does not contain false statements, personal attacks, or content that violates these Terms

Vendors may submit a single written response to a review on their profile. Vendor responses must be professional and must not attack, demean, or identify the reviewer personally.

IslandTulle reserves the right to moderate, withhold, or remove reviews that violate these Terms, that appear to be fraudulent or retaliatory, or that do not reflect a genuine experience. We do not remove negative reviews solely because a vendor disputes them — moderation decisions are made at our sole discretion based on our community standards.

8. Messaging & Conduct

IslandTulle provides on-platform messaging between couples and vendors. Messages are stored permanently and may be reviewed by IslandTulle staff in the event of a dispute or reported conduct violation.

All users agree to communicate professionally and in good faith. You must not use the messaging system to:

  • Send spam, unsolicited promotions, or bulk messages
  • Harass, threaten, or demean another user
  • Solicit payment or personal financial information outside the platform
  • Share content that violates these Terms or any applicable law
  • Attempt to move a couple-vendor relationship entirely off-platform in order to circumvent IslandTulle's marketplace — while we do not prohibit WhatsApp or other contact methods once a relationship is established, using messaging to systematically redirect couples away from the platform violates the spirit of these Terms

Violations of these conduct standards may result in immediate account suspension or removal from the platform.

9. Non-Discrimination

IslandTulle is committed to being a welcoming and inclusive platform for all couples and vendors. We prohibit discrimination by any user — couple or vendor — on the basis of race, ethnicity, colour, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, physical characteristic, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or any other characteristic protected under the laws of Trinidad & Tobago or any applicable jurisdiction.

Vendors must not refuse to provide services to, impose different terms upon, or otherwise treat any couple differently on the basis of any protected characteristic. Couples must not engage in discriminatory conduct toward vendors.

IslandTulle will investigate reported violations of this policy and may, in its sole discretion, suspend or permanently remove any user who is found to have engaged in discriminatory conduct. If you experience or witness discrimination on the platform, please report it to us at legal@islandtulle.com.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on IslandTulle that is not User Content — including the platform design, logo, wordmark, text, code, and editorial content — is the exclusive property of IslandTulle and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any IslandTulle-owned content without our prior written consent.

The IslandTulle name, wordmark, and logo are trademarks of IslandTulle. You may not use them without our express written permission.

If you believe that content on IslandTulle infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us at legal@islandtulle.com with a description of the claimed infringement, identification of the material at issue, and your contact details. We will investigate and respond promptly.

11. Third-Party Links

IslandTulle may contain links to third-party websites, including vendor websites, Instagram profiles, and WhatsApp Business links. These links are provided for convenience. IslandTulle does not control and is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party site. Clicking a link to a third-party site is at your own risk.

12. Disclaimer

THE ISLANDTULLE PLATFORM AND ALL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

ISLANDTULLE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. ISLANDTULLE DOES NOT ENDORSE ANY VENDOR LISTED ON THE PLATFORM AND MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS ABOUT THE QUALITY, SAFETY, LEGALITY, OR SUITABILITY OF ANY VENDOR'S SERVICES.

YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM AND ANY VENDOR SERVICES IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ISLANDTULLE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM OR SERVICES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES ARISING FROM DISPUTES BETWEEN COUPLES AND VENDORS, FAILURE OF A VENDOR TO PERFORM, LOSS OF DATA, OR INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE.

ISLANDTULLE IS NOT A PARTY TO ANY CONTRACT BETWEEN A COUPLE AND A VENDOR. ANY DISPUTE ARISING FROM A WEDDING SERVICE ENGAGEMENT IS STRICTLY BETWEEN THOSE PARTIES. WE ENCOURAGE ALL COUPLES AND VENDORS TO SIGN WRITTEN SERVICE CONTRACTS COVERING THE TERMS OF THEIR ENGAGEMENT.

IN NO EVENT SHALL ISLANDTULLE'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO ISLANDTULLE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless IslandTulle and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (i) your use of the platform or Services; (ii) your User Content; (iii) your violation of these Terms; (iv) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party; or (v) if you are a vendor, your products, services, or communications with couples or other users.

15. Termination

IslandTulle reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the platform at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to: breach of these Terms, provision of false or misleading information, conduct that harms other users or the platform, or failure to comply with applicable law.

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at legal@islandtulle.com. Deletion of your account does not entitle you to a refund of any subscription fees already paid.

Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimer, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will survive termination of your account or access.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of IslandTulle that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Trinidad & Tobago.

We encourage you to contact us first at legal@islandtulle.com before initiating any formal dispute process. Most concerns can be resolved quickly through direct communication.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on the platform before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page reflects when the Terms were last updated.

Your continued use of IslandTulle after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the platform.
